Casting as an exploration into what bringing the chair into new materiality forms starts to bring about from the individual components. It’s no longer about it being a chair.

 

If you present the elements of the of the chair in the pine/timber it is instructive of its prior narrative form, you already have a notion of what it was or what it came from.

Looking at bringing it into a different material aspect begins to suggest re-imagining the purpose and materiality of this object. 

 

 

Casting the chairs individual components to continue looking at the objects forms through a process of deconstruction, singular elements.
